Ah, summer. It’s a lovely time to be outside, but it’s not always a lovely time for granular fertilizer applications. That’s because granular fertilizers can sit on leaf tissue, which increases the risk of burn during high temperatures.

If you plan on applying fertilizer in the heat of the summer, it’s best to use a liquid fertilizer. Liquid fertilizers can be applied at lower rates and with greater control, making them the safer option.

Foliar-Pak’s summer liquid program consists of Armament Concentrate, Micros Plus (or Microsync), and Colonise Bio LTO. They all have special attributes that help them work well together.

Armament Concentrate contains Armament technology, a special amino acid formula that helps unlock nutrients that are tied up in the soil. This makes them more available to your customers’ lawns during hot, dry, and otherwise stressful conditions. It also makes applications up to 30% more efficient. Lawns are able to obtain better nutrition when you use Armament Concentrate, which means they require less nitrogen and stay greener for longer. Less nitrogen also means there’s less risk of turf burn.

The 100% chelated nutrients inside Micros Plus and Microsync allow turf plants to build more proteins and enzymes and photosynthesize more effectively. This, in turn, enhances both short- and long-term nutrient availability, giving the turf a longer-lasting color, improved health benefits, and enhanced disease tolerance.

Colonise Bio LTO promotes stronger soil biology, root growth, and extended root life. Stronger, longer, and broader roots mean that lawns can absorb water and nutrients quickly and effectively. It also helps them maintain energy reserves (in the form of carbohydrates) and stay strong under stressful conditions. Colonise Bio LTO also provides a deep green color without pushing excessive top growth, which is especially advantageous during the summer, when nitrogen inputs have to be limited.

Together, these products can give your customers’ lawns the nutrients they need this summer, without posing the risk granular products often do during this time of year. To learn more about these and other Foliar-Pak products, reach out to your ATS sales rep.
