New Products

As the seasons change, your methods for caring for turf do, too, and Advanced Turf Solutions stocks the products you need to keep your turfgrass strong and healthy all year round. With 2024 on the horizon, we wanted to take a moment to compile all the new products we introduced to our lineup in 2023 that will help your turf see a bright (and green) new year.

Equipment

The Steel Green SG54 will be a welcome addition to our equipment lineup. This zero-turn, stand-on sprayer offers a higher pump output of 40 gallons per minute and an increased liquid capacity of 100 gallons. Its 20.8 hp Honda engine will provide high horsepower, great adaptability, quiet operation, and excellent fuel efficiency. Accessories come standard, including a 2.5-gallon foam marker, 12’ boom, pressure control system, Hillside assist, and 100’ hose reel with roller guide and lock.

There is a limited supply of the SG54, so secure yours by preordering for next year.

Fertilizers

On the fertilizer front, we introduced The Andersons’ CastAway DG to our shelves. A natural fertilizer with high protein content, CastAway features tea plant seed meal-derived nutrients, which have the ability to reduce the frequency of worm castings on turfgrass. Plus, dispersing granule (DG) technology ensures precise delivery and makes runoff and nutrient loss a thing of the past.

We also now offer the newly improved Micros Plus, a liquid fertilizer by Foliar-Pak, which provides foliar delivery of key nutrients that promote improvement for overall plant growth. Micros Plus now features Armament technology, which uses micronutrients and plant extracts that enhance nutrient utilization, while the added potassium helps turf and transitions tolerate stress.

Fungicides

Fungi can cause serious damage to turf, which is why Advanced Turf Solutions brought two powerful fungicides into the fold in 2023.

Nufarm’s Tourney EZ is a powerful multi-season liquid formulation that’s your one-stop-shop for effectively controlling more than 16 turfgrass and ornamental diseases, including anthracnose, brown patch, summer patch, take-all patch, fairy ring, dollar spot, necrotic ring spot, gray leaf spot, snow mold, and more.

You can also keep your roots safe and beautiful with Envu’s Resilia Root Health Solution. As both a fungicide and nematicide, Resilia protects your roots from soil-borne pathogens and suppresses harmful nematode populations in cool-season and warm-season treatment programs. In short, Resilia enables your roots to reach their full potential and ensures your turfgrass is playable all season.

Herbicides

We also welcomed three new herbicides to our offering lineup:

ArmorTech 4-Runner is an exceptional alternative to 2,4-D formulations. This post-emergent herbicide offers unparalleled performance in controlling over 90 varieties of broadleaf weeds and sedges with observable results within hours of application. Despite its strength against weeds, ArmorTech 4-Runner maintains a high level of turfgrass tolerance, making it safe to use on both cool- and warm-season grasses.

Albaugh’s Crossroad herbicide is a selective herbicide that controls a variety of nuisance trees and brush, annual and perennial broadleaf weeds, and much more. With plenty of use cases and the ability to be used on all types of turf as well as sod farms, Crossroad can be a one-size-fits-all solution for controlling persistent, pesky plants.

Roundup QuikPro SC Total Herbicide is a non-selective herbicide that provides a fast knockdown and impressive residual control. QuikPro gets to the root of the problem, killing existing weeds and keeping new ones from sprouting for up to six months. From landscapes to hardscapes, QuikPro can help you make quick work of any unwanted green guests.

Infield Products

Our infield product offerings expanded with the introduction of our Advanced Infield Solutions (AIS) product line at the SFMA Conference and Exhibition in January.

Our Advanced Infield Conditioner brand consists of three calcined clay conditioners: ATS1000, ATS2000, and Advanced Dry. All of our conditioners absorb moisture and reduce compaction on the infield, but each has a few key differences:

  • ATS1000: Features 5/16 mesh
  • ATS2000: Features a smaller 8/20 mesh
  • Advanced Dry: In addition to absorbing moisture, Advanced Dry reduces slick spots on the mound and around bases and is designed to be used sparingly during rain events.

The Advanced Mound Clay brand exists to give players maximum performance and safety on batting, pitching, and catching surfaces. The lineup consists of Professional Mound Clay and Gumbo Clay. Our Gumbo Clay is meant for highly maintained baseball and softball fields and comes dry to allow for moisture control, while Professional Mound Clay comes pre-moistened and can be used at all levels of play.

We also introduced Advanced Engineered Soils, an infield mix containing sand, silt, and clay. The mix is engineered to provide a surface that plays well in all weather conditions with an SCR of 0.5–1.0.

Insect Control

Threats aren’t always mitigated with a fungicide or herbicide. Insects can pose a grave threat to the health of your turfgrass, so we’ve expanded our lineup of insect control offerings.

For insect control, you can browse the Rockwell Labs EcoVia line, which uses natural botanicals to eliminate all types of insects, including mosquitoes and ticks. With multiple options to choose from, including EcoVia EC, EcoVia G, and EcoVia MT, insects won’t stand a chance.

We also carry Rockwell Labs InTice 10, a perimeter borate bait that uses boric acid to take care of roaches, crickets, mole crickets, sowbugs, pillbugs, earwigs, silverfish, millipedes, snails, slugs, and most ants.

If you have a more immediate pest problem, we also carry Rockwell Labs InVict Xpress, a granular bait that uses imidacloprid to quickly kill cockroaches, crickets, mole crickets, silverfish, firebrats, earwigs, and most ants.

Plant Growth Regulator

The opportunity to mow less and save time sounds like a dream; Nufarm’s Anuew EZ can make that dream a reality. Anuew EZ is a new formulation of a proven plant growth regulator that can save you time through less mowing and clippings while simultaneously improving the overall playability of greens, tees, and fairways. As a late-stage GA inhibitor that, relative to others, is more active and longer lasting on cool-season and some warm-season turf species, you’ll have top-notch protection, consistent green speed, and a more evenly regulated and denser fairway.

We also brought SePRO’s Cutless QuickStop, a foliar landscape plant growth regulator that reduces trimming requirements and improves landscape aesthetics. QuickStop works rapidly to suppress terminal growth in established ornamental plants, leading to more compact growth that requires less trimming to the tune of 30-70%. Plus, treated plants will demonstrate darker green foliage for a more appealing appearance.

Rodent Control

Rodents can cause damage to property and carry diseases, so we added JT Eaton’s rodent control product line to our shelves. We carry one trap, a bait station, and two varieties of bait block options, giving you everything you need to establish an add-on rodent control service.

Seed

Last, but certainly not least, we added ProVista Kentucky Bluegrass to our seed lineup. Engineered to produce dense green lawns without much mowing or fertilization, compared to conventional Kentucky bluegrass, ProVista Kentucky Bluegrass grows at half the rate, is more shade tolerant, and is engineered for complete weed control.

As we close out 2023, we look forward to meeting your turfgrass needs in 2024 and adding more products that help you keep your turf beautiful and healthy.
