Employee Spotlights: Dylan Staley, Stephen Hill, and Michael Thomas
Our employees work hard to provide excellent service to our customers. In honor of Employee Appreciation Day, let’s celebrate three of our hardworking drivers, Dylan Staley, Stephen Hill, and Michael Thomas.
Dylan Staley
CDL Driver in Fishers, IN
Employee Since 2016
Dylan’s current role at ATS involves transferring products between locations. He enjoys his role because the work/life balance is great. He is able to spend as much quality time as he can with this family. Speaking of family, Dylan has been married for nine years and has one child named Colton. Dylan attended Trident College in Charleston, SC, and the Truck Driver Institute in Whiteland, IN.
What is your favorite part of your job?
“My favorite part of my job is it is a new adventure every day.”
What do you do for fun outside of work?
“My interests outside of work are cooking, fishing, reading, and helping my son with his many interests and hobbies.”
What’s your guilty pleasure?
“Caffeine is my guilty pleasure. It helps me get through the day and it is in so many delicious drinks.”
Are you a dog person or a cat person?
“I am a dog person and have one dog named Zelda. Dogs are loyal, loving, and build bonds. Cats plot against you.”
What does your perfect day look like?
“Spending the day floating down the river with friends and family and ending in the evening with a big cookout/seafood boil.”
What is one thing many people do not know about you?
“I used to jump out of planes for a living, but I absolutely hate flying!”
What is your favorite sports team?
“The Tennessee Volunteers are my favorite sports team. I attended the University of Tennessee for a short period of time and continued to live in the Knoxville area afterward. I fell in love with the University of Tennessee football culture.”
Stephen Hill
CDL Driver in Sharonville, OH

Stephen’s current role at ATS involves counting loads for orders, transferring products between locations, and offloading orders from his flatbed with a forklift. Stephen has been married for thirty years as of January 27th and has two daughters. Stephen has an Associate Degree in graphic design and recently wrapped up a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.
What is your favorite part of your job?
“My favorite part of my job is being able to work outside. Also, when you deliver products, most folks are genuinely glad to see you and that is a plus.”
What do you do for fun outside of work?
“Outside of work, I enjoy woodworking, gardening, and working with computers. I normally end up repairing or making some type of furniture when I partake in woodworking. I like to garden in general, but gardening in raised beds with lots of fresh topsoil is my favorite. When it comes to computers, I enjoy building or helping family members build gaming computers.”
What’s is your favorite food?
“My favorite food is chili. But I do not like it spicy or with noodles in it. I also like to make it myself. Part of the fun of making chili is seeing how it comes out. Each batch is unique.”
What is your favorite family tradition?
“Gathering together for Christmas. We make dishes from family recipes and hang ornaments that have been passed down through a few generations. In some cases, the ornaments are from my great grandparents, which make them around 100 years old.”
What’s your favorite dance move?
“I don’t have a particular dance move. I like to freelance.”
What’s a song that gets stuck in your head the most?
“The Symphony No. 9 in E Minor, “From the New World,” by Antonín Dvořák. It was inspired by his visit to the United States. My grandad and mother used to listen to classical music and I must have heard it while they were listening to it. It’s one of those songs that just moves me and, ever since hearing it the first time, I’ve always had a copy of it in some form.”
If you could be any age for one week, what would it be?
“I like to live in the moment. This is what God gave me today. The past is done and tomorrow’s not promised. So, the age I am now would be it.”
Michael Thomas
Class B Driver in Monroeville, PA
Employee Since 2018
Michael’s current role at ATS involves planning truck routes and coordinating delivery times with customers while providing excellent customer service. Michael recently got engaged to his financé, Allyson, around Christmas.
What is your favorite part of your job?
“My favorite part of my job is the feedback from the customers and feeling like I make a difference in the company.”
What do you do for fun outside of work?
“When I am not working at ATS, I enjoy doing photography, riding dirt bikes, and working on cars.”
What is one moment in your life you would like to have a picture of?
“One moment in my life I wish I could have a picture of is last summer when I was doing photography at night I was lucky enough to see a meteor spiral and burn up right above me (not lucky enough to get it in the camera frame though). ”
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
“If I had a superpower, it would be to fly and experience a birds-eye view of the earth.”

“Three words I would use to describe myself are reliable, funny, and consistent.”
Who has had the most influence in your life?
“The person that most influenced my life would be my dad because he taught me to work hard and be a good person.”
