Bigger and Better: Boardman Spotlight
Advanced Turf Solutions has 24 locations that proudly serve customers in 15 states. Our Eastern Ohio location first opened in 2014 in Youngstown, then relocated to Boardman in 2022. With a recent addition, the Boardman facility now has 8,600 square feet for this growing operation.
Boardman prides itself on customer service. The team is always happy to answer questions, doing whatever they can to help local turf professionals be successful. Although most of their customers are in the lawn care business, the team has access to an extensive network of knowledge across the golf and sports markets. If they don’t know the answer to a question, they’ll gladly find it through someone in the company.
Led by Alex Butchko, the operations team in Boardman is motivated and efficient. They have a fun work culture, as Alex said: “We are here to help anyone find solutions to their lawn and landscape problems, and we have a great time doing it.”
Employee Since 2019
Alex first joined ATS in March 2019, starting as a warehouse associate, counter sales representative, and Non-CDL driver. He was promoted to assistant facility manager in 2021, then facility manager at the end of 2022. In the four years he’s been here, Alex has grown his career and learned a lot through the process.
Alex studied turfgrass and horticulture at Kent State University and worked in landscaping for several years before joining ATS. Alex and his wife have a two-year-old daughter and a seven-month-old son. When he finds time, Alex enjoys golfing and fishing.
Counter Sales Representative
ATS Employee Since 2022
Stacy joined ATS as a counter sales rep at the end of 2022. He knew Alex from Kent State, where he also attended for turfgrass and horticulture studies. Stacy previously worked on the service side of the turf industry, which prepared him well for his current role. He enjoys the camaraderie with his coworkers at ATS and the opportunity to build customer relationships.
Outside of work, Stacy likes camping, hiking, and kayaking. He grew up in the area as a Pittsburgh Steelers and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Stacy enjoys spending time with his six-year-old son, whom he describes as his “mini-me.”
