Fall seeding time will be here before we know it. This year’s seed crops will be harvested in late June and early July, and the fields look very good so far. The Pacific Northwest has received adequate and timely rains, and heading into harvest time, we are expecting average to above average yields for most crops. Even with a good harvest, we are expecting some modest increases in pricing heading into the fall. Increased input costs for fuel, labor, and fertilizer are the main driving factors for this increase.
ATS strives to provide the best quality seed products to our customers. To do this, we aim to use seeds that were harvested in the previous year whenever possible. Seed that is freshly harvested often has primary dormancy until it goes through a cooling cycle or has time to dry down more in storage. Using seed from a previous harvest increases the potential germination percentage. Using previous years’ harvests also allows us to have products bagged and ready for you when you need them. We do not need to wait for this year’s harvest to be completed and for seed to be cleaned and tested.
What that means is that we’re positioned to help you, and we have already begun bringing in seed for the August seeding window.
We are ready to help you with your seeding needs in 2026. Take a look at our seed options here and reach out to your ATS representative for more information and pricing.
