The line, “if you build it, they will come” is well known from the movie Field of Dreams. I like to apply a variation of this line to my methodology for growing healthy turf. If you build healthy soil (“it”) then what “comes” of this practice is healthy turf. Or in other words, “If you build it, then it will come.”

Sampling this time of year allows sports turf managers to prepare a fertility plan for the upcoming season. It is important to know what is available to the plant in the soil, so you know how much and what to apply to provide healthy and happy turf.
