Well, since the month of May decided to show up mid-March it has provided us with challenges we have never experienced before in this industry.  It has had us all scrambling right out of the gate. Besides having to deal with a severe broadleaf weed situation 4 weeks earlier than usual we have also seen the early emergence of crabgrass in some areas while many are still busy trying to get their pre-emergent down. Not only has broadleaf herbicides been flying out our door so has post-emergent herbicides for annual grasses which typically aren’t in demand until late summer.

With that in mind, might we suggest a new product that may be of great help to you and possibly save you additional problems and service calls down the road: Cavalcade PQ.  Cavalcade PQ herbicide contains Prodiamine the active ingredient in Barricade pre-emergent and Quinclorac the active ingredient in Drive post-emergent herbicide. This product combines two trusted herbicides with proven synergy that delivers pre-emergent and extended post-emergent control of grassy and broadleaf weeds. This product is labeled for residential and non-residential properties, athletic fields, golf courses (except greens) cemeteries and sod farms. Providing both post- and pre-emergent control on several grassy weeds species including: barnyard grass, poa annua, large and smooth crabgrass, and foxtail. Pre-emergent control on weeds such as chickweed, henbit, knotweed, spurge, purslane, and yellow wood sorrel. Post-emergent control on clover, bindweed, dandelions, black medic speedwell and wild violets.

As you can see, this is a very versatile product that could be very helpful to have on the truck while applying your next round of fertilizer. Hitting the hot spots (curbs, sidewalk and driveway edges) will provide post-emergent control on many grassy and broadleaf weeds plus puts down extra pre-emergent protection on those mentioned hot spots where pre-emergent break through appears first. Calvalcade PQ is a water dispersible sold in a 5 lb. bottle with a low rate of 0.38 to 0.83 oz. per 1000 sq. ft. depending on your weather zone.  This product may be a perfect fit for the unusual weed conditions we are experiencing.  For further information and pricing please contact your local Advanced Turf Solution’s sales representative.

Thank you all for your continued business, support and trust, our number one goal is servicing you our valued customers and friends.  Wishing you all a very productive, safe and profitable 2012 season.

Best Regards,
