The use of patented PHCA Organic Humic/Fulvic Acid Technology in Solu-Cal significantly increases the availability of applied and stored nutrients in the soil. Proven to be 75% more effective than traditional pelleted lime, one 50-pound bag of Solu-Cal Enhanced Calcitic Lime is equally as effective as four 50-pound bags of standard lime. In addition, Solu-Cal Enhanced Calcitic Lime is treated with a coating that results in significantly less dust during application than untreated pelletized products.  Solu-Cal’s raw material is ground to 325 mesh, far exceeding traditional limestone products that are typically around 200 mesh.  This insures the timeliness of our product going to work and doing its job as soon as it comes into contact with moisture, either by rainfall or irrigation.  As the granule breaks down, Solu-Cal’s patented PHCA humic/fulvic technology goes to work by releasing many soil stored nutrients that are unavailable to the plant because of low pH.  As the pH increases so does the availability of the soil stored nutrients such as Ca, P, K, and Fe.  Have you ever seen turf green up after a traditional limestone application?  Well you will see this effect after an application of Solucal if the turf is in its active growing season.  This is due to the Fe being released by the PHCA technology.  When over seeding, sodding, or even planting trees, shrubs, or annual flowers, an application of Solucal will speed up the process of germination and rooting due to more P becoming available.
