Now is a great time to reflect and evaluate your 2012 season. It seems that, in general, most turf professionals had a positive and successful year. We had great March and April weather to kick off our growing season, a severe drought to give us some challenges, and a good fall for recovery purposes. Winter will be here in a few short days, and we are excited to see what 2013 will bring.

Take time to meet with your ATS rep to review your product requirements for 2013 in regards to what worked, what’s new, and what “fine tuning” might be necessary to your program.  We want to be your partner in helping YOUR success, profitability, and professionalism stand out.

Fertilizer prices look stable for now but we all know the trend on price increases on urea come spring when agriculture demands kick in.  In fact, urea went up last week due to increasing concerns about low water levels in the Mississippi River impacting the movement of barges into the Midwest economic system.

There are always new product innovations to help us become better turf managers.  Take advantage of your industry trade shows and conferences this winter.  We just completed our Ohio Turfgrass Foundation Conference and Trade Show last week.  I was told attendance was up!  (A good sign that our industry is alive and well.)  The conference provides us many opportunities to expand our knowledge in the T&O markets, and reacquaint/network with friends and colleagues.  Chris Spielman gave attendees at OTF a great speech on “Living your life with a passion”.  A very moving and heartfelt speech from Chris.  I hope to post a link to his speech sometime in the near future.

Here is a picutre of our space at the OTF Trade Show.  Thank you to everyone who stopped by to see us!

From all of us at ATS we wish you and your families a happy and blessed holiday season.

(For those in the snow removal business, I’ll do a snow dance!)
