Turf and Ornamental Sales Representative

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for generating in-store sales by providing excellent customer service to our walk-in clients. A salesperson must have the personality and temperament to deal with customers in a professional, polite and efficient manner. The salesperson must provide answers about products, promotions, supply and other pertinent information as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promptly assist customers at counter and ask pertinent questions, provide information they may need, take orders and provide excellent customer service
  • Answer telephones professionally and pleasantly, assisting customers, taking orders and customer service
  • Provide product / job quotes as appropriate
  • Keep showroom up to date with seasonal product displays
  • Develop in-store promotional programs to generate interest and grow sales
  • Assemble equipment for display and large orders as needed
  • Work with Warehouse Personnel on orders
  • Work with Sales Manager on collecting market and other competitive information as needed
  • Work 5 to 5.5 days per week

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma
  • 1-3 years of sales experience
  • Reliable transportation
  • Demonstrate the desire and ability to work and learn
  • 1-3 years of  turf and ornamental industry knowledge
