Xylem Marketing, a division of Advanced Turf Solutions, is seeking a creative, full-time, onsite Marketing & PR Content Writer. This position works closely with our Content Manager and other marketing team members to support the organization’s strategic plan and departmental goals via researching, planning, implementing, and evaluating Advanced Turf Solutions’ strategic marketing communications plans.

The Marketing & PR Content Writer position requires someone who is a strong writer, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable about media trends. You should be a self-starter, creative thinker, collaborative contributor, and display a positive attitude. This role requires personable communication skills as they will interact with sales representatives, vendor partners, media contacts, and customers to produce all forms of written communication, including, but not limited to, headlines, support copy, long-form content, collateral, sales materials, press releases, website copy, and social media.


  • Assist Content Manager with marketing concepts, research, media outreach, conducting interviews, drafting press releases, and writing and editing green-industry content for print, web, social media, email, and other channels
  • Manage blog schedules, coordinate with sales reps, and edit and optimize content for SEO
  • Review and update previously published content as needed
  • Assist with tracking analytics and developing reports related to media mentions, newsletter readership, and website traffic
  • Proofread and edit content written by others on the marketing team
  • Implement an integrated, proactive, strategic communications plan to expand Advanced Turf Solutions’ brand identity, to broaden awareness of a variety of green-industry products, and to increase the visibility of our initiatives across key stakeholder audiences
  • Assist with incoming customer inquiries via social media and email
  • Build, develop and maintain relationships with media contacts
  • Draft, distribute, and pitch media materials and press releases
  • Ensure all agency content is in line with plan and branding strategy
  • Bring new ideas for content creation to the team
  • Provide administrative support to the sales team


  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or related field
  • 1+ years of prior internship and/or work experience in PR, media relations, or content marketing is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a command of grammar and MLA Style Guide – writing samples required
  • Must be able to write in both professional and conversational/personable tones
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and self-disciplined

  • Ability to coordinate projects from inception to completion and meet demanding deadlines
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team
