JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced Athletics Assistant Groundskeeper in the Indianapolis area. This individual will help manage approximately 60 acres of both high school and middle school athletic fields within 3 campuses. This position is strictly for athletic fields and not all school grounds.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide daily maintenance and/or construction projects of sports fields
  • Promote company culture and values
  • Complete projects/work orders as assigned
  • Ensure Salesforce is up to date daily
  • Keep daily records of work performed
  • Successfully performs all tasks assigned in Salesforce
  • Field work including but not limited to – seeding, grading, applications (fertilizer or chemical), aerification and top-dressing
  • Make sure all work is performed safely and to the highest quality
  • Make sure the work site is cleaned up after each project
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have strong organizational skills
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Strong agronomic skills maintaining cool season turf
  • Ability to professionally interact with customers
  • Extensive knowledge/experience setting up playing surfaces (baseball/softball, football, soccer, rugby, tack & cross country)
  • Positive, self-starting attitude
  • Ability to work long hours “in season” maintaining playing surfaces
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Google platform
  • Knowledge of safe operational practices for all equipment

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree or certificate of study in Turf Management, Golf Course Management Horticulture or a related field
  • 1-3 years of field experience working both maintenance and construction
  • IN Pesticide License – can obtain once hired
  • Class A CDL – can obtain once hired
  • Fork-lift certified – can obtain once hired
